Saying . . .
Hello, Tonie and Linda! I just wanted to drop you a quick note stating how much I enjoyed your "Dark Side of Karate" book. It answered a puzzle that has been bothering me for years. I've long held that there is something wrong with the martial arts. I've always had a bad feeling about it, but never had a solid answer as to why. I didn't understand it very well, but I knew something was wrong. We've always steered away from it and kept the kids out of it. Your book really helped me understand the whole program. My suspicions were correct. In fact, your thorough explanation branches into other areas that I have the same bad feelings about (Eastern religions and things related to them). I've been studying them as well. Your book came at just the right time, as my mind has been busy learning more and becoming more aware and careful of stuff that "bugs" me, even if I don't always understand why. Gradually, my armor toolbox is growing and strengthening. Now I have the tools to confront those who approach me. I always hope to be Christian-acting and loving towards others, not judgmental, but I have no desire to compromise my faith. It takes careful tact and proper words, Holy Spirit supplied, to take on the world and the things it offers. My library is growing on leaps and bounds and your book will be there, too, ready if I or someone else needs it. Thanks again and may God bless your ministries! I received your e-book book just in time - it was an answer to prayer! ... Thanks to Berit Kjos, I was assured it is the best available. And sure enough - it answers all the issues raised by [several leaders] from another congregation excellently!
Karate is
taking many churches by storm at this critical time. South Africa is rapidly
conforming to post-Christian, pagan/New Age/interfaith global trends. You
will agree that pastors, educators and parents need to discern and urgently
equip students to stand fast in obedience to God's warning against the
practices of the heathen nations as a matter of urgency! The new education
system, Curriculum 2005 with OBE textbooks and interfaith multireligious
education gradually being implemented, expose thousands of innocent
children to Eastern and indigenous occult practices - martial arts included.
